IoT Product Development, Device to Dashboard
Hardware + Firmware + Provisioning + Mobile Apps
IoT system design combines device hardware, firmware, secure provisioning and cloud connectivity into one working product. Electuni designs the whole stack: custom PCB, embedded firmware, device provisioning, cloud backend and dashboards, plus mobile or web apps. It is for teams that want one engineering partner from sensor to cloud.

How We Approach IoT Systems
Our IoT systems are designed as complete stacks: custom PCB hardware, embedded firmware, secure provisioning, cloud backend, and user-facing applications.
We implement device provisioning flows that scale from prototype to production, with certificate-based authentication and fleet management.
Real-time dashboards give you visibility into device health, sensor data, OTA deployment status, and fleet-wide analytics. Device data is stored in TimescaleDB and visualised in Grafana, so history and live views come from the same source.

IoT Systems FAQ
What does a complete IoT system include?
A complete IoT system has four layers: the device hardware (PCB and sensors), the firmware that runs on it, the connectivity and provisioning that identify each device securely, and the cloud backend with dashboards. Electuni designs all four layers and adds a mobile or web app when the product needs one.
Which wireless protocol should my IoT device use?
Choose by range, data rate and power. Wi-Fi offers high throughput where infrastructure exists. Bluetooth LE suits short range, low power and phone pairing. LoRa gives long range at very low data rates. Zigbee and Thread are low-power mesh options, and LTE-M or NB-IoT provide cellular coverage. Electuni supports all of these.
What is device provisioning in IoT?
Device provisioning is giving each device a unique identity and the credentials it needs to connect, such as an X.509 certificate and network settings. Good provisioning works without manual setup per unit and keeps private keys off shared files. It is what lets a product scale from prototype to production.
How is IoT device security handled?
Secure IoT design uses encrypted transport with TLS, a unique certificate for each device, secure boot, and signed firmware updates. Electuni's specification lists TLS 1.3 and certificate-based authentication. Which TLS version a device can use also depends on the device's TLS library and on the cloud endpoint it connects to.
What is the difference between MQTT and CoAP?
MQTT is a publish-subscribe protocol that runs over TCP and routes messages through a broker, which suits cloud telemetry. CoAP is a lightweight request-response protocol that runs over UDP and is designed for constrained devices and networks. Electuni uses MQTT and CoAP for device communication and OTA transport.
Which cloud platforms do you connect IoT devices to?
Electuni connects devices to AWS IoT Core, Azure, or a self-hosted MQTT broker. Sensor and fleet data is stored in TimescaleDB, a time-series database built on PostgreSQL, and shown in Grafana dashboards. The platform is chosen with the client based on device count, existing infrastructure and running cost.
